What People Are Saying

“Ward added a great deal to the show. Beyond his smooth playing…he also provided some excellent vocals….He also soloed on a moving ‘September Song’. Like every moment of this terrific show, it shone with honesty and sincerity.”

—Bart Greenberg, Cabaret Scenes

“Ward helps make ‘The Bronxville Darby and Joan’ an audience favorite.”

—Larry Myer’s, Cabaret Reviews

“Matthew Martin Ward, Darling’s crucial ally as her sole accompaniment on piano and  masterful arranger.”

—Robert Windeler, Bistro Awards

And she is indeed aided by Ward, her musical collaborator, accompanist, and occasional duelist. He even delivers a delicious solo of naughty impropriety, ‘Currier  and Ives’ (Dorothy Fields/Sigmund Romberg) and duets with Darling on the same  songwriters far  more romantic ‘Close As Pages in a Book’.
